# Where your data is stored

> Learn where ClearPolicy stores customer data, which regions are involved, and where to find the full Data Processing Agreement for compliance reviews.

ClearPolicy stores and processes your organization's people records, documents, and compliance history on ClearPolicy-managed infrastructure. This page summarizes the basics. For legal commitments, sub-processors, security measures, retention, and international transfers, see our [Data Processing Agreement (DPA)](https://www.clearpolicy.app/data-processing-agreement/).

## Primary location

Customer data processed on your behalf is stored primarily in the **United States**.

| Data | Where it is stored |
| ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Application and database | Vultr data center in **New Jersey, United States** |
| Uploaded documents and files | **Cloudflare** object storage (region set to automatic selection) |

ClearPolicy does not offer customer choice of hosting region today.

## What this covers

This applies to data your organization manages in ClearPolicy, including:

* People records and group membership
* Document content, revisions, and uploaded files
* Acknowledgment and signature records, including audit trail data
* Signed paper copies uploaded when a team member records paper on file
* Data imported through integrations you enable (such as Planning Center)

Billing, product analytics, and marketing website analytics are handled separately and are described in our [Privacy Policy](https://www.clearpolicy.app/privacy-policy/).

## Roles

For the people and document data you manage in ClearPolicy:

* **Your organization** is the data controller. You decide what to collect and which documents to send.
* **ClearPolicy** is the data processor. We process that data only to provide, secure, and support the service.

## Sub-processors and integrations

ClearPolicy uses third-party providers to operate the service. Core providers (such as hosting, email delivery, and payments) are listed in **Section 8** of the [DPA](https://www.clearpolicy.app/data-processing-agreement/). Some providers are used only when you enable a specific integration.

## International transfers

If your organization is in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, review the international transfer sections of the [DPA](https://www.clearpolicy.app/data-processing-agreement/). UK organizations can also download our [pre-signed UK International Data Transfer Agreement (PDF)](https://www.clearpolicy.app/downloads/clearpolicy-uk-international-data-transfer-agreement.pdf).

## Compliance reviews

For procurement, security questionnaires, or legal review:

1. Start with the [Data Processing Agreement](https://www.clearpolicy.app/data-processing-agreement/) — it is incorporated when your organization uses ClearPolicy.
2. Use the [Privacy Policy](https://www.clearpolicy.app/privacy-policy/) and [Terms of Service](https://www.clearpolicy.app/terms-of-service/) for broader service terms.
3. Email [support@clearpolicy.app](mailto:support@clearpolicy.app) if you need a countersigned DPA or have questions this page does not answer.

ClearPolicy does not provide legal advice. Your organization is responsible for determining whether ClearPolicy meets your regulatory and contractual requirements.
