# Download documents and completion records

> Choose the right download for a published document, an online signature, or a signed paper copy.

Choose a download based on what you need to keep: document content, evidence of one person's completion, or a summary of many people's status.

## Download an online completion

1. Open **Requests → Completed**, or find the completed request from the person or document.
2. Open its actions menu.
3. Choose **Download signed document**.

The electronic record includes the document version, person, completion time, and signing details such as typed name, IP address, browser information, and document hash. Historical click-only acknowledgments do not have a typed-name signature.

People can also reopen their completed request from the email link or signing portal to download the online receipt when available.

## Understand the PDF certificate seal

ClearPolicy digitally signs electronic certificate PDFs to help verify their origin and detect later changes. This PDF seal is separate from the person's typed electronic signature.

Some PDF readers describe ClearPolicy's signing certificate as self-issued or not trusted by a public certificate authority. That message alone does not mean the file was altered. See the published [security information](https://www.clearpolicy.app/security/) for details.

## Download paper on file

Open the paper-completed request and choose **Download uploaded file**. This is the original evidence uploaded by your team. ClearPolicy does not generate an electronic attestation certificate for paper completions.

## Print or export a summary

Use [compliance reports](/guides/compliance-reports) when you need many people's statuses. A report is a summary; use the individual completion download when you need the document and its signature evidence.

To print one request's history, open **Activity** on that request. Closely repeated views may be grouped in the printed timeline for readability.
