# Set your organization's time zone

> Configure a time zone for your organization so that automatic reminders send at the right time and dates in emails match your local time.

ClearPolicy stores all dates in UTC internally. By default, dates shown in emails — such as request deadlines — use the application's default time zone. If your organization operates in a different time zone, you can set one so that recipients see dates and times that match their local expectations.

## Set a time zone

    Click **Settings** in the sidebar, then select the **Organization** page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a time zone">
    In the **Organization information** section, open the **Timezone** dropdown and select your time zone. If you leave it set to the default, ClearPolicy uses the application's default time zone.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    Click **Save** to apply the new time zone.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Where time zone applies

Your organization's time zone is used in two ways:

### Scheduling

* **Automatic reminders** — ClearPolicy sends automatic reminders in the morning in your organization's time zone. If you haven't set a time zone, reminders use the application's default time zone.

### Date formatting in emails

* **Request emails** — The deadline shown to recipients when request expiry is enabled.
* **Reminder emails** — Timestamps shown in automatic and manual reminder notifications.

<Note>
  Expired request processing still runs on a fixed UTC-based schedule and is not affected by this setting.
</Note>

## Default behavior

If you don't set a time zone, ClearPolicy uses the application's default time zone for all date formatting. You can return to the default at any time by selecting the first option in the dropdown.
