If you have an existing contact list, you can import it directly into ClearPolicy rather than adding contacts one at a time. The import process supports both CSV and Excel files and lets you preview the results before committing the import.

Go to the People section

Open the People section from the main navigation.

Click Import

Click the Import button to open the import panel.

Prepare your file

Make sure your file includes the following columns:

emailYesEmail address used for sending requests.
phoneNoMust be in international format (e.g., +12345678901).
groupsNoComma-separated group names. ClearPolicy adds the person to each group and creates missing groups automatically.
Column headers are case-sensitive. Keep your file clean and free of extra blank rows.

Upload the file

Select your CSV or Excel file and upload it. ClearPolicy will parse and preview the contacts before importing.

Review and confirm

Review the preview to confirm the contacts look correct. Once you are satisfied, confirm the import to add the contacts to your People list.
Duplicate emails are handled gracefully. If a contact with the same email address already exists in ClearPolicy, the import matches to the existing contact rather than creating a duplicate.
Use the groups column during import if you already know how contacts should be organized. Separate multiple groups with commas, such as Staff, Managers, Denver.
