ClearPolicy connects to Microsoft in two ways: your team members can sign in with a Microsoft account, and you can import documents from OneDrive when creating or updating a document. Both are connected per team member — each person authorizes Microsoft independently.

Sign in with Microsoft

Team members can log in to ClearPolicy using a personal Microsoft account or a work or school account instead of a separate email and password. On the login page, choose Sign in with Microsoft, complete Microsoft’s sign-in, then return to ClearPolicy.
Microsoft sign-in is available to any team member. Connecting sign-in does not automatically enable OneDrive import — connect OneDrive under SettingsIntegrations when you want to import documents.

Import from OneDrive

When creating a new document or replacing content on a draft revision, you can import a file from OneDrive instead of uploading from your computer.

Supported file types

  • Word documents (.doc, .docx) — converted to PDF on import
  • PDF files stored in OneDrive

How to import

1

Start a new document or open a draft revision

In ClearPolicy, create a new document, or open an existing document and work on a draft revision.
2

Choose Pick from OneDrive

When choosing how to add content, select Pick from OneDrive. If OneDrive is not connected yet, choose Connect OneDrive and complete Microsoft’s permission prompt.
3

Select your file

Browse or search your OneDrive and select a Word document or PDF. ClearPolicy downloads the file, converts Word documents to PDF when needed, and uses it as the document revision.
On work or school Microsoft 365 accounts, your organization admin may need to approve ClearPolicy before you can grant file access. If you see a message that admin approval is required, ask your Microsoft admin to approve the app, then try again.

How to connect OneDrive from Settings

You can connect OneDrive before you import a file.
1

Go to Integrations

Navigate to SettingsIntegrations.
2

Connect OneDrive

Under apps that ClearPolicy can access, find OneDrive and click Connect. Sign in with Microsoft and allow access to your files when prompted.
You can disable OneDrive access at any time from SettingsIntegrations. Disabling access does not delete documents already imported into ClearPolicy.

Sign-in vs OneDrive access

You can use Microsoft sign-in without connecting OneDrive, and you can connect OneDrive without using Microsoft for daily login.
